“Patchwork” 2018

This piece is produced from at least 10 different small designs I was doodling on paper one day.  It was an exercise and study in shapes of various elements used in many different patterns. 

I photographed my drawings and used Adobe Capture to convert to a digital format.  After that I was able to bring them directly into Illustrator.  I have really enjoyed using the Adobe Creative Cloud.  I’m able to do quite a few designs on my phone and then import them into the computer later one with just a few clicks here and there.

I was very happy with the results of these elements.  As I look at this particular image, in my mind I see the movement of machines, gears and contraptions.  I can hear the buzz and grumble of the machines as they vibrate and spew forth their products, whatever they may be.
